"Sysiphean struggle"

Can you just imagine Mark rolling rocks up hill in that pink tutu get up of his?

Wulfgar

Sadly, I can. Hehe. How awful is that? Hehehehe.

Craig Moore

It's enough for your wolf image to scratch its eyes out and yodel.

Larry Kralj

I had Sysiphus once, but a good dose of pencillin cured that right up! I thought it was a myth until the good doctor, a Dr. Camus I believe, told me it was no myth.

Geez, Wulfgar, I'm impressed! No WONDER you can kick some rightwing ass. And I gotta tell ya, I love sitting back with a cold one and watching you do it! But I have one question. Do you plan on attending law school some time in the future?

Craig Moore

Larry, pink tutu guy is not a right winger these days. He made a Left turn and went over to the dark side.

;)

Larry Kralj

I hear ya. That too!

Moorcat

I have said it before and I will say it again.. I am proud of you, little brother. You have certainly accomplished more acedemically and career-wise than I have. You have always had the ability to keep your nose to grindstone while I have pinballed through life. You deserve to feel proud about your accomplishments. I am happy to be able to call you both Brother and Friend.

JC

A's from Linda Sexton?! She was one of my favs. I studied with her about 12-14 years before you did. If It weren't for trying to get out of school with my BS as soon as I could, I probably would have gone for a religious studies degree there.

I did get to study at UM during grad school under Joseph Eps Brown before he retired, and Tom Birch (who schooled me well in leftist philosophies and deconstruction/postmodern thinking). But I think Linda was probably my fav religious studies and philosophy teacher.

Big Swede

Let's see how smart you are come Nov.

Wulfgar

Congratulations, Swede. That's the dumbest fucking comment I've gotten since I banned Tokarski. Making a choice doesn't make one dumber, except for you maybe.

Big Swede

I'm referring to your fall predictions, genius.

Wulfgar

Funny that, Swede. Football season doesn't end until January.

Specifically which predictions are you referring to? Or are you confusing me with someone else? If you're talking about these, there just isn't anything too outrageous there. There's only 2 things I've begun to question more since July. The Repugnants might take very very slim control of the House (which won't change the behavior of Congress at all), and the Chargers won't be the 1st or 2nd seed in the AFC playoffs. But right or wrong, you're still going to screech like a crazed Magpie anyway. See prediction number 5.

Big Swede

Lets say I wouldn't celebrate any more than you guys in '06.

Lets review-magpies are crowing about US house and the Chargers, so I'll address the others.

1) Define "weakness". Less than 5?

2) Lawsuit will have little effect-BS wins.

3 and 4) Don't care, but will take the R's

5) Haven't The TP's had a successful run up to this point? Nationally?

6 and 7) We have a winner.

8) Define favorite.

9) Winner.

10) Lose both-should count for two.

Eric Coobs

(1) You don't need to explain your 'Mad Creds' to anybody -

(2) You should have taken time to have taken a debate class or two - you might have won one against me once in a while if you would have done so - LOL

Wulfgar

Eric - 1) you're right, I don't. But if I do it might prevent some willful ignorance on the part of others, for example 2) I lettered in debate, Eric.

Swede,

1) Probably 5 or less. Incumbents haven't been doing as poorly as you seem to think.

2) We'll see.

3) and 4) I do care. They're my districts.

5) No, Swede, they haven't. That's what I find funny about the Tea Party attitude. Hayworth got royally creamed by McCain. Rubio beat Crist and now polls show him equal to slightly behind Crist as an Independent. Crist is rising, Rubio is falling and the establishment GOP is finding themselves having to pour huge dollars into Rubio's campaign. Sharron Angle has completely lost her shit, and it will be surprising if Reid doesn't beat her by 20 points or better. The only real bright spot for the TP is Miller's extremely narrow defeat of Murkowski in Alaska. And they've gone full on crazy because Murkowski is threatening to run as an Independent. No, it's been a great year for Tea Party press, but not for any real success.

6) Right now 1 and 2 appear to be Baltimore and Indianapolis.

7) I know I'm right on this one.

8) Don't bother. I'm already correct. It is one of the most linked, most read and most discussed websites in Montana already, and August just ended.

9) Thank you.

10) As indicated, the House might be up for grabs, mostly because the Senate has thrown them under the proverbial bus. The Senate will remain in 'so-called' Democratic hands, which means nothing. The right-wing will still call the shots in the Senate, just as they have for the last 4 years.

Big Swede

5) Maybe if more Dems keep sounding like this the TP's effectiveness will be diminished.

Democrats add fiscal austerity as a campaign issue

By Shailagh Murray

The candidate was outraged - just outraged - at the country's sorry fiscal state.

"We have managed to acquire $13 trillion of debt on our balance sheet," he fumed to a roomful of voters. "In my view, we have nothing to show for it."

And that was a Democrat, Sen. Michael Bennet of Colorado, who voted "yes" on the stimulus, the health-care overhaul, increased education funding and other costly bills Congress approved under his party's control.

Faced with a potential wipeout in November's midterm elections, candidates such as Bennet are embracing budget cuts with the enthusiasm of Reagan Republicans.
