David Bowie is dead. Prince is gone. Leonard Cowen is gone. Patty Duke, Mohamed Ali, Alan Rickman, Ron Glass, Abe Vagoda, Glenn Frey ... all passed. As all things must.
A passing is a change, and 2016 has wrought it's havoc of change on the NFL as much as everything else. Not all of that is bad but it is noteworthy. Peyton Manning is no longer in the league. Tony Romo is a backup to a rookie, and two rookies have the Dallas Cowboys sitting on the very top of the NFL. Ezekial Elliot is on pace to set new records for a rookie running back. For the first time in 6 years, it seems that the Broncos will not win the AFC West. The Raiders have already earned their first winning season since 2002. Three teams that appeared to be dynasties in form are all struggling. Seattle sits atop the NFC West, only because the rest of the division sucks. Green Bay and Carolina are staring in from the outside of playoff contention. Megatron retired and the Lions look, dare I say, better? Cleveland shows every sign of becoming the second team ever to go 0-16.
This has been a wild year. As we enter the last month of it, so very much change could still happen.
Dallas (10-1) at Minnesota (6-5) - Dallas (17-15, Cowboys)
Now if the Vikings still played outdoors ...
Kansas City (8-3) at Atlanta (7-4) - KC (29-28, Chiefs)
Atlanta can't give Ryan enough time against a motivated Chiefs pass rush.
Detroit (7-4) at New Orleans (5-6) - Saints (28-13, Lions)
Don't play the last-second game against Drew Brees.
Los Angeles (4-7) at New England (9-2) - Hatriots (10-26, Hatriots)
Denver (7-4) at Jacksonville (2-9) - Broncos (20-10, Broncos)
A long way to travel, but that defense is hungry.
Houston (6-5) at Green Bay (5-6) - Packers (13-21, Packers)
It would be more certain if Green Bay had a run game.
Philadelphia (5-6) at Cincinnati (3-7-1) - Eagles (14-32, Bengals)
Oh Carson, why can't I quit you?
Miami (7-4) at Baltimore (6-5) - Dolphins (6-38, Ravens)
Risky pick of the week.
San Francisco (1-10) at Chicago (2-9) - 'Niners (6-26, Bears)
I just have no respect left for the Bears.
Buffalo (6-5) at Oakland (9-2) - Raiders (24-38, Raiders)
Carr's quick release stymies the Bills.
New York Giants (8-3) at Pittsburgh (6-5) - Steelers (14-24, Steelers)
LeVeon Bell goes to town.
Washington (6-4-1) at Arizona (4-6-1) - Cardinals (23-31, Cardinals)
Home field. Call this my contrarian pick
Tampa Bay (6-5) at San Diego (5-6) - Buccaneers (28-21, Bucs)
A long way to travel for Tampa Bay, but they are playing inspired football.
Carolina (4-7) at Seattle (7-3-1) - Seahawks (7-40, 'Hawks)
They will likely have Bennett back and they play in the Northwest.
Indianapolis (5-6) at New York Jets (3-8) - Colts (41-10, Colts)
Revis against Moncrief or Hilton? I like the ponies.
