Captain Obvious says:
The Patriots have a 5 game lead in the AFC East. If they win one more game, they take the division. If they win the game this week, they likely win the top seed in the AFC playoffs. The Panthers have a 4 game lead in the division. If they win 2 more games they win the NFC South, one more if they beat the Atlanta Falcons in 3 weeks. It won't take them that long. The Denver Broncos and the Cardinals have 3 game leads in their divisions. Playoffs for these squads are almost assured. Thank Dog the bye weeks are over. This will be a pivotal week in the NFL playoff picture.
There is so much to say, yet no time in this holiday week. Happy Thanksgiving.
Philadelphia (4-6) at Detroit (3-7) - Lions (14-45, Lions)
The Lions seem to be getting the hang of this.
Carolina (10-0) at Dallas (3-7) - Panthers (33-14, Panthers)
That defense is just too good. And Ted Ginn Jr. has finally found a home.
Chicago (4-6) at Green Bay (7-3) - Packers (17-13, Bears)
Confidence is a fragile thing in Chicago.
St. Louis (4-6) at Cincinnati (8-2) - Bengals (7-31, Bengals)
As tough as they played the Cardinals, I don't see the Bengals losing 3 in a row.
Oakland (4-6) at Tennessee (2-6) - Raiders (24-21, Raiders)
The defense is slipping, but Oakland still has the horses to get this done.
New York Giants (5-5) at Washington (4-6) - Giants (14-20, Taterskins)
The Taterskins have been surprising, but stupid. Coughlin will make them pay.
Minnesota (7-3) at Atlanta (6-4) - Vikings (20-10, Vikings)
I was wrong last week about how fast the Falcons are slipping.
Buffalo (5-5) at Kansas City (5-5) - Chiefs (22-30, Chiefs)
Damn, the Chiefs are playing well.
New Orleans (4-6) at Houston (5-5) - Saints (6-24, Texans)
Somebody woke up that Houston defense. They still suffer from NohasQB simplex 1.
Tampa Bay (5-5) at Indianapolis (5-5) - Buccaneers (12-25, Colts)
Winston is starting to impress.
Miami (4-6) at New York Jets (5-5) - Jets (20-38, Jets)
Fitz faces real pressure., but home field counts for a lot.
San Diego (2-8) at Jacksonville (4-6) - Jaguars (31-25, Chargers)
Does Rivers have anyone left to throw to? Still, Bortles didn't look all that great last week.
Arizona (8-2) at San Francisco (3-7) - Cardinals (19-13, Cards)
I said before that the 'Niners defense was only Navarro Bowman facing off against 11 guys.
Pittsburgh (6-4) at Seattle (5-5) - Seahawks (30-39, Seahawks)
The legion of Boom is back, if not as strong as before.
New England (10-0) at Denver (8-2) - Broncos (24-30, Broncos!)
Edelman is out, Amendola is hurt, Gibson is hurt. Brady got pounded against Buffalo. The Broncos will have no mercy for the Cheetahs.
Baltimore (3-7) at Cleveland (2-8) - Browns (33-27, Ravens in the most amazing finish ever.)
Matt Schaub v. Josh McCown? I'll take McCown and the Brownbutts at home.
