That's how Mark Steyn apparently sees women's role in the our economy.
"I'll tell you how," says Speaker Pelosi. "I'm a big believer in prevention. And we have, er… there is a part of the bill on the House side that is about prevention. It's about it being less expensive to the states to do these measures."
Makes a lot of sense. If we have more STD prevention, it will be safer for loose women to go into bars and pick up feckless men, thus stimulating the critical beer and nuts and jukebox industries. To do this, we need trillion-dollar deficits, which our children and grandchildren will have to pay off, but, with sufficient investment in prevention measures, there won't be any children or grandchildren, so there's that problem solved.
Emphasis mine. What have we learned from Mark?
1) Men are feckless (and hence, blameless).
2) Women just want to fuck without consequence.
3) That Congress-skirt wants to take your money and give it to women so they can fuck without consequence.
4) Women who only want to fuck don't care about your children or grandchildren. WON'T SOMEBODY THINK OF THE CHILDREN!?!
5) Steyn wants women scared into virtue, and punished for being sluts with an (expensive to us all) STD.
Look, I'm not any more certain than the rest of y'all (those who think anyway) about how effective health care spending is going to be in the immediate stimulus package. Long term, I think and believe that health care spending could save our economy billions, if not trillions, of dollars in lost profit and productivity every single year. But that isn't what Steyn is writing about. He's writing about his hatred and disgust for women. This was nothing more than a misogynist screed, a clarion call for men to keep women in their proper non-slutty place, and defend our rightful male property progeny. And what's truly terrifying is that it honestly portrays the thinking of a vast number of Republican men.
I really didn't want to post something serious right before the High Holy Day, but this was too infuriating to let pass. So let me just wrap this up with a hearty "Go Steelers!"
