The Rock Star Just Got His Ass Kicked

Way back when, a very long time ago, I got in a fight with one of the captains of the football team.  For whatever reason, he called me up one winter night to tell me he was coming to my house to "kick my ass".  Okay.  I met him out on the road, because I wasn't gonna let him come onto the property, and struck a good stance (for a fat-boy).  He kept walking towards me, doin' his little bob-and-weave, telling me how screwed I was.  I just kept backing up, waiting for the storm.  And then he did it; he overplayed his hand.  He asked me a question (certainly one of the stupidest questions I've ever heard).  "Do you wanna box or do you wanna wrestle".  Game over.  I knew he was bluffing.  I said, "I wanna fight", and gave him a roundhouse kick to the ribs that I'm certain he avoiding sleeping on for at least a week.  I'll spare you his surprised expletives, but he was very conciliatory after that.  We ended up shaking hands, and parting ... acquaintances (I'm certain only so long as I didn't tell everybody at school what happened.)

Let's be clear, here.  I was bigger, both vertically and laterally, but he was stronger, faster and he had the initiative.  It was his fight to lose, and he lost it because he underestimated my commitment, and was unwilling to press his advantages.  And that's the position that Barrack Van Frampton Jagger Obama finds himself in now.  He overplayed, and he's about to get his ass kicked by someone more committed.

If this were a game of poker, Obama just admitted that he's throwing in his two pair against Bush's obvious single ace.  The Congress has full advantage here.  They control the purse strings of the Iraqi debacle.   They can revoke the  President's war powers.  They can push for Impeachment.  And the Congress has the people on their side!  We the people, you know, those of us who own our government,  spoke clearly last November.  "George, we're coming up to your place and kick your ass."  And Obama just asked, ever so politely, "Do you want to box or do you want to wrestle?"

If President Bush vetoes an Iraq war spending bill as promised, Congress quickly will provide the money without the withdrawal timeline the White House objects to because no lawmaker "wants to play chicken with our troops," Sen. Barack Obama said Sunday.
"My expectation is that we will continue to try to ratchet up the pressure on the president to change course," the Democratic presidential candidate said in an interview with The Associated Press. "I don't think that we will see a majority of the Senate vote to cut off funding at this stage."

Excuse me, Barrack Fripp Vetter Springsteen Obama, but you just told the President that he has the power to tell you to go to hell, and you'll do ... nothing.  Colby's take is right on the money.  This is really stupid.

Robin Williams used to tell a joke about British  Bobbies, when encountering a miscreant.  Since they are unarmed, the Bobbies would shout, "STOP! Or I will yell 'Stop' again!"  The difference here is that Congress isn't unarmed.  They have the might of the American people behind them.  They possess the Constitutional power to tell GW to take a slow hop off the fast train.  For Obama to tell the Decider that whatever he chooses is just A-Okay with the Congress ... until next time, you wascally wabbit ... is beyond disappointing.  It pisses me off.

People are dying here. America is bleeding money here.  The Deciderator wants that to continue such that he might secure his legacy by leaving this clusterfr@ck to his successor.  More lives, more money, and so goes the circle of life, death and civil war in a country we have no reason to be in.  And, on the one issue that matters most to the American people and America's future, Barrack Ray Vaughn Obama has signed off on whatever Bush wants.  I cannot, I will not, support this man for President.  I would now post up the graphic of the Dem candidates with his picture sporting a giant (and angry) "DON'T WANT!", but I'm not in the mood to be that coy.  This butthead screwed up on the one thing that he should not have screwed up on.  Bad move.  Enjoy getting your ass kicked, Obama.

And that, dear readers, pretty much says it all.

Bye Bye Barack.

Oh, I use that "Stop! Or I'll say stop again!" Robin Williams bit on my kids all the time. Good one.

I love the seague (however it is spelled), that kick to the ribs was the metaphorical equivalent of what I was hoping the Dems to do to Bush; of course I probably wouldn't complain if it wasn't so metaphorical, either!
