I really wish people would keep their politics out of my football, and football out of politics. I didn't want the Patriots to win in 2002 just because it would appear patriotic. I don't care about a team owner's political affiliations when rooting for a squad. I don't care if someone was a good player or a poor player when they run for political office.
This year, I must stridently disagree with the Dark Lord Kos, and that dirty f*cking hippy Atrios. I don't care who Tony Dungy gets invited to speak to, and I don't care who Payton Manning donates money to. What I care about happens on a hundred yards of grass this afternoon, and I want the Colts to win.
It's not that I have anything against Chicago; they're a fine franchise with a great running back and a killer defense. But Payton Manning is the best in the game, possibly one of the best of all time. He's already endeared himself to me by beating Belichick and Brady. I 'm certain that others enjoy the drama of basing the quality his career on whether he wins one game. I don't. I didn't appreciate it with Elway, Esiason, or Kelly; and though I loath him, I didn't appreciate it with Marino either. I think this is Payton's game to win and I want to see him get it done.
Chicago Bears - 27, Indianapolis Colts -37
good pick. I picked the colts at 36-27

You know how it is: some people just can't turn it off for anything.
That being said, I think that Grossman will play like he did against the Cardinals earlier this year: Colts 35, Bears 10.

I had the Colts 29 (with a missed extra point), Bears 17, and sure enough ...

Well, I recorded the game. Not because I enjoy football, which I do not, but because I like the superbowl commercials. Usually anyway, but this year they were lame lame lame.
Lame. With one exception: I like the Emerald Nuts commercial that confirmed my sneaking suspicion that when I am not looking Robert Goulet sneaks into my office and messes with my stuff.
